A HUGE thank you to all of the parents who came along to help out at the cross country on Friday. Also thank you to everyone who braved the wet & windy conditions to cheers the children on. The smiles as the children came over the finish line were priceless!
Thank you also to Mrs Sprague & all of the PPS staff who ran the day.
Thank you to all of the sponsors for the day – we are currently tallying the sponsorship from studnets and will keep the school community posted on how much we raised.
A reminder to families/students to keep on gaining sponsors for this week’s cross country. The fun run raises money for new sports equipment and PE resources. Let’s see if we can top last years total of $660…

Yesterday we were very lucky to have a visit from Jamie & Kim’s Mobile Zoo. It was a great experience for all of the students as they got to hold and touch a range of native fauna.
If you have a child starting Prep next year, or you know of someone who has a child of school age, please pop in and see Wendy or myself to get an enrolment pack. Anyone wanting to have a look around the school can make a time for a tour. It is good to have enrolments happening sooner rather than later, as it assists with our planning for grade structure and staffing for next year. Portland Primary School has a lot to offer its students and families, so please consider making a time to look around and see what we are all about – “Working Together for Educational Excellence”.
To book a tour please call 55231911 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Last Friday was National Walk Safely to School Day. Thank you to everyone who took part in the day. It was great to see so many students and families joining us for the “Walking School Bus”. It was also fantastic to see everyone back at school sharing a breakfast and enjoying each others company. Thank you to our wonderful staff who prepared breakfast for the masses.
It was great to see so many of our students at the march on Friday to honour those who fought for our country at war. Thank you to the families who attended, it was a very moving ceremnony, and a great opportunity for our students to be a part of our history.

Last weekend Portland welcomed its very first cruise ship to the harbour. Our students were there to capture this event. I have posted some of the pictures in our ‘gallery’. They are well worth a look. The students who particpated did a tremendous job!
